Cerrin Lathrop born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona began her dance journey from a petite age of two years old at Dance Connection, where her father taught. Growing up in the ’90’s competition/convention world, she trained heavily in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Tumbling.
In 2003, Cerrin was accepted into Arizona State University’s Katherine K. Herberger College of Fine Arts. In 2007, she received her BFA in Dance Studies with Barrett Honors.
Since graduating, she danced for a variety of contemporary and modern repertoire companies, but mostly she dove deep into dance education and pedagogy development. She’s taught, choreographed, artistic directed and implemented programs in every location she resided; Arizona, Oregon, California, North Dakota, Colorado and Japan. Some of her most notable accomplishments are presenting at AZDEO on introducing non-dancers to dance, co-founding SubRosa Dance Collective in Portland, Oregon, Artistic Director of Off Center Dance Company Jr. in Mesa, Arizona and establishing international dance programs in Okinawa, Japan.
Since moving to Colorado in 2020, her primary focus has been her students by integrating anatomy and strength training into the classroom, familiarizing competition based dance programs with modern dance and creating intelligent dancer artists that can take their knowledge and insight into whatever career field they decide to pursue.
