Jeni Kemper is the Owner and Artistic Director of Kemper Dance Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Arizona in 2005, where she expanded her passion for dance into a lifelong commitment to education, mentorship, and excellence.
Jeni's early training began in Colorado Springs, where she studied ballet, jazz, tap, and modern. Throughout her career she has had the privilege of learning from some of the industry's most respected artists, including Mia Michaels, Debbie Allen, Bill Hastings, and Sherry Zunker. She also received a full scholarship to the Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago program and trained with the renowned River North Dance Company.
After graduating from college, Jeni fulfilled a lifelong dream by performing professionally with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line as both a dancer and Dance Captain. She has also choreographed for Colorado Children's Theatre, Colorado Springs School District 11 productions, and numerous community and competitive performances.
As an award winning choreographer, Jeni has earned Top Choreography honors at competitions across the country, and her students have received countless scholarships, national titles, collegiate dance opportunities, and professional achievements.
More than the awards, Jeni's passion lies in helping young people discover their potential. She believes dance develops confidence, resilience, discipline, creativity, leadership, and lifelong friendships that extend far beyond the stage.
One of Jeni's greatest missions is helping students understand that the dance industry offers countless career opportunities beyond performing. Whether a dancer dreams of becoming a performer, educator, choreographer, physical therapist, athletic trainer, arts administrator, agent, or another professional within the performing arts, she is committed to helping them discover their path and connect them with opportunities along the way.
Growing up, Jeni believed dance was simply a hobby until being accepted into the University of Arizona opened her eyes to the many possibilities a dance education could provide. That experience shaped her philosophy as a teacher and mentor. Today, she strives to help every student recognize their own potential, dream bigger than they imagined, and understand that the lessons learned in the studio prepare them for success in every aspect of life.
For Jeni, the greatest reward isn't the trophies or titles. It's watching her students grow into confident, compassionate, hardworking young adults who pursue their passions with courage and purpose. Whether they continue dancing professionally or choose a completely different career, she hopes every student leaves Kemper Dance Academy believing in themselves and knowing they are capable of achieving extraordinary things.
