Roxanne "Roxy" King is a tap performer and teaching artist born and raised in the DC-Metro (DMV) area. Roxy has had the privilege to grow up learning from the masters across the country including Baakari Wilder, Jason Janas, Chloe Arnold, and Charles Renato. While in DC, Roxy teaches at various local dance studios and is the Artistic Director of DynaMYTE, the junior company of the Metropolitan Youth Tap Ensemble (MYTE). Roxy is a sought-out instructor, teaching abroad in Brazil, Argentina, and on faculty for the DC Tap Fest. In 2017, Roxy had the honor of attending the Jacob's Pillow Tap Program run by Michelle Dorrance and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards. Roxy has performed with Dorrance Dance, The CHR Project, and traveled the world performing in Music From The Sole's production "I Didn't Come to Stay." She also danced alongside Michela Lerman in "Love Movement." Roxy is thrilled to make her way to Chicago as a member of Chicago Tap Theater and is looking forward to sharing her love for tap with TranscenDance Studios' students!
