DSUP’s owner & primary instructor is Angela Cusimano Russell but is better known as "Ms Angie." Ms Angie began dancing in Farmerville in as a 3 year old. She later participated in studio competition teams, traveling convention workshops and master classes, Twin City Ballet summer intensive workshops, and was a teachers assistant through the years. After her mentor and friend, Ms Heather Tyler Storm, was in a tragic car accident, Ms Angie felt inspired to open The Dance Studio of Union Parish in 2005, 20 years ago! She hopes to inspire generations of students to grow and find themselves in the love of music and movement. Ms Angie is certified in ballet, tap, jazz, and acro under SADM. She has her BA in English from La Tech. Besides creating an exceptional recreational dance program and coaching successful competition teams at DSUP, she has also worked with several pageant candidates. Ms Angie, her husband Jake, and their daughter Isla Rose live in Farmerville.
