Miss Starla Gatson! Miss Starla has been dancing for 20 years, teaching for 11, and she was an assistant for many years before that! Her favorite part of teaching is “watching my students grow and improve each week. I love celebrating all of their victories with them, even the small ones, and I love watching them be proud of what they’ve accomplished. “ Outside of DSUP, Miss Starla is an adjunct dance instructor at ULM and the artistic director of the ULM Dance Repertory Ensemble. She received a journalism degree from Louisiana Tech in 2018 and now works as a writer and editor for several magazines and websites. In her free time she likes to travel, spend time with friends/family, crochet, and play the piano!
