Elizabeth Cruz

Elizabeth's passion for dance began at the age of 18 months old when she put on her first pair of tap shoes. At the age of 4 she began training at the California Ballet School and North County Dance Arts, Inc. At California Ballet Elizabeth studied ballet, flamenco, ballet pointe, and performed in the Nutcracker and as the character Grumpy in Snow White. During her time at California Ballet Elizabeth studied under Maxine Mahon, Clarissa Palhegyi, Denise Dabrowski and Gail Wingfield. Elizabeth trained under Louis and Tanya McKay and faculty for thirteen years studying tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, broadway, and hip hop. During her time at North County Dance Arts, Inc. she competed as a soloist and as a member of the NCDA competition team for 8 years. As a competitive dancer Elizabeth won both regional and national titles.

In 2016 Elizabeth graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of the Arts in Public Health Policy with an emphasis in business management. During her time at UC Irvine she directed and performed in abridged performances of the musicals Annie and Wicked for the Broadway Musical Showcase, Greek Songfest. These performances won awards of best choreography, best costuming, greatest philanthropic impact, and first overall. Elizabeth moved on to become the Executive Producer of Greek Songfest where she oversaw 1,200 students in the development of the Broadway Musical Showcase, and raised $60,000 for their benefactor, the Jessie Rees Foundation.

Elizabeth is now living in San Diego and working in the marking field with hopes to grow her business management experience both inside and out of the studio. Elizabeth absolutely loves teaching and feels incredibly blessed to have been a part of the NCDA family for the past 20 years
